The founder created MJL in 1972 in order to help his friends design and build new products to streamline their companies' operations. Over the years, MJL developed a reputation as an inventive hot shop that could solve design and manufacturing challenges for a variety of industries. A perfect example of this is the billet putter designed for a man named Ely Callaway - a product that helped propel Callaway Golf into the world renowned company it is today - the largest golf equipment manufacturer in the world. Another perfect illustration of MJL's innate ability to problem solve, was the design of a water jacket end cap for a small, burgeoning computer chip manufacturer. The endcap is used on vacuum furnaces in which computer chips are fabricated. This water jacket solved a huge downtime problem for the computer chip manufacturer. Its name? Intel. This new water jacket endcap quickly became an industry standard manufacturing practice throughout the microchip industry. In 1998 MJL became MJL Engineering and Manufacturing and turned its focus on the design and manufacture of specialty carts and accessories for the transport of respirators and other medical devices.
Today, MJL provides turnkey, customized solutions for a variety of companies around the world. MJL's dedication to low overhead and high productivity allow it to produce custom parts and equipment for far less money than commercially available products that don't quite get the job done.
